History:
Roadrunner Records was launched in 1980, it was made to make a business of importing north-american metal music into europe. in 1986, Roadrunner opened it's US HQ in new york city; then later in the UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Denmark and the lasted in Canada. they had early successes included albums from "King Diamond" and Annihilator. they also handled early "Metallica" releases in the scandinavian region. they when on to release some on the biggest metal artistes for the next few years. but in December 18, 2006, Warner Music Group signed an agreement to purchase a majority in shares (73.5%) of Roadrunner's parent company, Roadrunner Music Group B.V.

history: Brett Gurewitz formed Epitaph Records as a vehicle for releases by his band Bad Religion. the labels first release was Bad Religion's 1981 self-titled EP, followed by their debut "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?", which was also the label's first full-length release. In 1988 Epitaph released its first record as a proper label, which was L7's self-titled album. in 1994, Epitaph received widespread fame, both within and outside the punk community, when Bad Religion, NOFX, Rancid and The Offspring all released hit records.
