there is a lot going on in this video, so the shots are short and quick to reduce viewer fatigue. the average number of beats before the next shot was 2/3 beats, this shows the speed of this video; this can also be seen to show the heticns of video as they are having a party. there just two types of transitions between shots, a simple cut and a quick fade.
Sound
even though this is a music video, there is dialog both at the begining and end of the video. this dialog is just used to help to show the naritive of the video, as the main charted also doesn't know that has happen. other then the small amount of dialog there is no other use of sound but the musice for the video (see clip).
camera work
in this video there is a small range of camera shot, eg, close-ups, exstreme close-ups, mid shots and establish shot. the camera has little movement in the video, exsepte for the begining where there is a long panning shot; used to establish the area they are in (see clip).
the video is based in a american sub-berb, this is show in the beginign of the vidoe with the long pan. for the state of the main chaters room, it is esay to see that is has been trashed due to some kind of party; this sets the story off for the rest of the video.
